Minshin Yano, Korallia Stergides and Raphael Schulenburg are emerging performance practitioners who work both independently and as an interdisciplinary collective.
Our upcoming work in progress TBC begins in Cyprus as a laboratory performance in our residency at the Old Vinegar Factory, Limassol, Cyprus during the 21st May – 31st May 2018. It explores the overlaying narratives that emerge when our practices meet. A choreography of re-imagined myths sectioned in a series of tableaux’s, express an effort to resolve the disjointed and info-saturated nature of a dinosaurs back brushing the palms of Cleopatra’s cat.
The workshop will introduce the methodology we use to begin devising work collectively. Playing with task based experiments that have a particular focus on objects and how they are framed when responding to a site or space. We aim to explore how an object can be used as a starting point for performance. We will investigate the relationship we have to the chosen objects, their inherent memory and their potential to be subverted through radical ways of myth making.
Participants will be asked to introduce themselves through an object or prop to generate abstract stories.
(No performance experience necessary)
