Presentation- Secondhand Knowledge research project
Friday, 10th of February 2017, 20:30, Dancehouse Lefkosia
Secondhand Knowledge is a research project between Rósa Ómarsdóttir, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and Alexander Roberts where they look at knowledge about dance through the eyes of the geographical periphery of Europe. The research takes place at several European countries that are peripheral to the central European dance scene either geographically or culturally.
Having a strong believe in the value of knowledge that is received secondhand, interpreted and often mistranslated, the group travels through the periphery of Europe and works with local dance artists to discover their perception of history and knowledge about dance. Looking at the euro-centric dance history from the outside in.
The team of researchers during their stay in Cyprus will be interviewing and working with Cyprus Choreographers dancers and dance makers through workshop sessions.
Their research visit will conclude with a sharing session open to the public with the results from their two weeks residency research at the Dancehouse Lefkosia, on Friday, 10th of February 2017, at 20:30 at the Dancehouse Lefkosia.
